Elliot HoyteElliot Hoyte

Amherst Madison Real Estate Advisors
Idaho REALTORS®

A football scholarship to Boise State University brought Elliot Hoyte, 27, to the U.S. from Plymouth, England. After graduating with a degree in communication, he earned his real estate license in 2018. Money was tight, so he became a master of low-cost marketing. He sat open houses, sometimes four days a week, and posted often on social media about his life and real estate. “The more conversations you have, the more business you have,” says Hoyte. Driving for Uber and making food deliveries kept him afloat, but just barely. Seven months in, with $17 in the bank, he signed his first client. More followed, including five directly from his social media engagement. Ever the football lover, Hoyte launched a crowdfunding campaign that paid for pricey BSU game tickets for low--income fans. “We brought in some much-needed happiness,” he says.

Christine NievaChristine Nieva

Nieva, Inc.
Maryland REALTORS®

Four years into her earlier career as an operating room nurse, Christine Nieva, 29, started to feel the real estate itch. The problem? “I was working 40-hour weeks and commuting two hours a day. I didn’t have much time to network in person or find a mentor in real estate.” Undeterred, Nieva decided to optimize her lengthy daily commute. “I listened to [real estate coach] Joshua Smith on YouTube and the Pat Hiban Real Estate Rockstars podcast.” Over two years, she listened to 832 hours of education and interviews, learning what the very best real estate pros did to grow their businesses. Under the guidance of these “audio mentors,” Nieva made a complete career change from nursing to real estate. “I saw that transition quickly; it was all about consistency and volume,” she says. “I had to meet more prospects, and work to convert them. I had to systematize my mindset.”

Jordan PyleJordan Pyle

Broker - Keller Williams Chicago - Lincoln Park
Founder - Pyle Residential

“I wasn’t that guy who came into the industry and started crushing it right away,” admits Jordan Pyle. He knew only six people in town when he moved from Iowa to Chicago in 2013 at age 22. “I had no network, and I barely knew real estate,” says Pyle, now 29. For the first couple of years, he focused on learning the ropes from seasoned mentors. “I immersed myself in education and did things that aren’t comfortable for me,” he says. “Every day, I challenged myself to improve my public speaking skills, practicing by making phone calls that intimidated me.” He gained exposure and met more people. Pyle aims to work with clients in a consultative way, helping to dispel misconceptions about, for example, the 20% down payment rule. “Every day, I want to add five people to my database,” he says. “I could have 6,000 contacts, but I focus on the 100 who will help me grow my business.”
